5 Little Monkeys & Blog Candy!!

So, it has been a while since I've sat down and scrapped. In fact, this page was done about 2 weeks ago! It is one for my MIL for the calendar I am "trying" to make her for Christmas...LOL!! Now I just need to get motivated and sit my butt down and do it.

This is titled "5 little monkeys". The picture was taken at Sea World San Diego back in July, 2009 while my daughters and I visited family. The kids had all played games and each of them won monkeys, so we decided to get a picture of kids with their "souveniers"...LOL! And wouldn't you know it, my youngest daughter actually made me bring home that polar bear....he got stuffed into a suitcase all by himself, I almost didn't have enough room in the other cases for our clothes!

Anyways....here is the menu of items I used:

DCWV Tahiti stack (all PP)
DCWV Neutral & Bright (CS)
Thickers stickers (all letters & number)
Adirondack paint
Stickles
Flowers & Brads (unknown)

As for the Blog Candy....stop by and visit my dear friend Tracey's Blog. She is giving away some amazing stuff for following her blog, leaving a comment and/or posting a link to her page on your own blog. Her blog is Scrappin Trackside and she does awesome work...be sure to check her out!

Ok, now I'm off to find some more inspiration so I can get scrappin' on my MIL's present! Thanks for stopping by!

Got Pudding

So, I'm kinda out of my scrapbooking funk. I've done a couple of pages in the last few days, but that was probably because I didn't have to work, and the fact that I have some awesome pics from our San Diego visit with family that I want to get done.

This LO was from a sketch by my friend Tanisha over at The Shoe (If the Shoe Fits...Scrap It blog). Of course I modified it to come up with this particular setup and also by making it an 8x8 page instead of my normal 12x12. I will be sending it as a gift to my dear SIL for my niece's birthday present and then I think I'm going to do the same LO and use it in a calendar I plan on making my MIL for Christmas.

So here's the story behind the LO: We (my girls, my 2 SIL's, my 4 nephews and 1 niece) were at Coronado Beach, CA having a day of togetherness....we hadn't seen each other in 4 years!! Well, we had brought some pudding for the kids to snack on but we forgot to bring spoons!! That didn't stop my almost 2-year old niece from eating hers, as you can see. That pudding on her face (I know, you can't really see it in this pic) was priceless!! She is just too adorable for words!

Here is a menu of items I used:

DCWV cardstock (brown and blue)
DCWV Tahiti stack (PP)
Recollections flowers
CTMH pendant (it says "Cherish")
K&Company Recycled chipboard
Gelly Roll glaze pen (white)
Unknown brads
Unknown tassel

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog! Head on over to see my friends at The Shoe, they would love to have you!!

Until next time!

Twilight update and Beach Bums LO

So it's been a LONG time since my last post. Of course, I've finished reading all the "Twilight" series books (over and over again) and am counting down the days until "New Moon" the movie comes out. In the meantime, my daughters and I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Facinelli (who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the movies) during the summer. He was such a nice guy and he even gave blood at the American Red Cross Blood drive he was there to support. Here are some pics of the event:

Ok, so enough about "Twilight"....well for now anyway LOL!! Here is a LO I did of our vacation to San Diego over the summer. I still have TONS of pics to scrap, but this one is a favorite of mine. This is of my girls, my niece and my 4 nephews at Coronado Beach, CA.

Supplies used:
DCWV Cardstock (Black & Red)
DCWV Tahiti stack (striped pp)
DCWV Vellum quote "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children"
Cricut homemade flowers
Kaiser Bling gems
CTMH alphabet stickers (Bums)
Thickers alphabet & accents stickers (beach & swirls)
Joann's tag (for hidden journaling)
unkown ribbon
Hopefully I will be able to scrap some more tomorrow & Monday since I do not have to work. If so, I will definitely be posting them.
Thanks for stopping by! It's off to work I go now!

My "Twilight" Saga....

So I bought "Eclipse" today and just finished reading it about 10 minutes ago (1:00 AM).....I started reading it at 3:00 PM!!! Now I just learned from my daughter that "Breaking Dawn" is in her locker.....AT SCHOOL!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!! I'm debating on whether I should get my butt dressed and headed over to Wally World right now to buy it.....I don't think I can wait until Monday afternoon to start reading it. I've never gotten into a series like this, where I just HAVE to start reading the next book IMMEDIATELY. Now I know what I was missing.....why did I wait so long to read "Twilight"????

Ok....my mind is made up.....it's off to Wally World for me! I'm so excited!!!!

No Scrappiness going on here.....

I haven't scrapped anything in the last....ummmm...few days!! I've been super busy, trying to work, study for a test tomorrow, keep my kids and DH fed, house cleaned, etc!! BUT, I have FINALLY gotten on the bandwagon that is known as "TWILIGHT"!! I know, a little late, but now that I know what it is all about I AM HOOKED!! I read "Twilight" on Memorial Day (yes, in 1 sitting) and then I bought "New Moon" yesterday and finished reading that today!! I came home and asked my daughter were "Eclipse" was and she said my sister had it.....dang it, my sister lives in Northern Virginia....no time to have her send it to me because I will go crazy with anticipation!!! So, instead, after my test tomorrow I will be running my butt on over to the great Wally World and buying it. Thankfully my daughter still has "Breaking Dawn" in her bedroom, so I will not have to run out and get that one! I know, crazy right???

Well, as soon as I can get those books read I will be back to my scrappy little self.....I HOPE! I have so much I want to do, I'm going to TRY and make a Calendar for my MIL for her birthday in June, but I will not be giving it to her until July when I fly out to San Diego to see them....YEAH VACATION!!

Well, thanks for reading (my lovely 2 followers!!! LOL!!!) and anyone else who happens upon my blog!

Friday Color Challenge Black Tie Affair

So the challenge over at If the shoe fits blog was to create a card or LO in Black & White, and ONLY Black & White...no other color (not even the pics). This LO is of my "Soccer Stars"...Sarina & Breanna. This was a little hard for me, as I have never done my photos in Black & White...NEVER!! But I absolutely love how the pics turned out...I'm going to have to do this more often!

Card Challenge Wednesday

So over at If The Shoe Fits...Scrap It (http://iftheshoefitsscrapit.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-day-is-it-card-challenge-wednesday.html), they had a Beach-themed card challenge for Wednesday. This is what I did (also for a crop on CafeMom). It is the "Surprise Pop-Up" card that I learned how to do from YouTube (here's the video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYS2WIEOEbQ )

Welcome!

Ok, so this is a FIRST for me! I have never blogged before, but I figure "why not give it a go!!". So here I am, ready to post my first blog....YEAH!! This is just a place for me to post my scrapbook pages and the cards that I create....either for myself or others (like other blog challenges).
I hope you all enjoy my page....I need to figure out how to customize it, so any tips would be greatly appreciated! Maybe I'll have to ask my wonderful friend Tracey (over at http://scrappintrackside.blogspot.com/ ).....I just LOVE her....she's the greatest and she makes the most amazing scrappy pages & cards I've ever seen. So stop by her blog and see her wonderful creations!

So here are a few of my creations so far:

This LO is from our Bahama anniversary trip. This is my DH and I "Snorkeling in Freeport". I used one of those 12x12 pages that has 2 side 6x12 flaps that open up:

Birthday LO of my oldest daughters 14th Birthday. The girls are in their bathing suits in the jacuzzi tub filled with bubbles!!

Here is on of "Our Hero"....my husband from his last deployment in 2007:

This is ME at Thanksgiving 2008.....posing for the camera (which I'm always behind....LOL!!!)

Well, I hope you all enjoy! I will try and get some other things worked on and posted soon!
