I didn't go to work today (technically it is my day off, but I go in sometimes to do some catching up). I wasn't in the mood to do anything, but then I ran across a few challenges that came up on my "follow" list that I just had to do (in between going grocery shopping and making food for our office party tomorrow...LOL).

FF #26 - March Color Challenge

This weeks challenge over at The Shoe is a color challenge.....Black, White and Green, which fits perfectly for St. Patty's Day right"? Well, I didn't go that route but I made this beautiful LO of my girls in their soccer uniforms which just so happened to be green! I titled it "Joy Beautified", because that is what they are to me.

Be sure to stop on over to The Shoe this week to see what the other GDT's did for this challenge.

Til next time!

Happy Birthday Noah!!

On Tuesday, March 9th, my nephew Noah is turning 9!! I totally cannot believe that he is almost to the double digits! He has grown up so quickly, but is a super, crazy, funny boy....you should see some of the looks he gives and some of the cutest little comments he makes (see picture below for one of his funny moments from my vacation back to San Diego last summer!!)

I also used a Freebie Digi Stamp from Bugaboo Stamps that is so cute!! Be sure to check out their website HERE for some awesome stamps you can buy!

When my lovely sister-in-law, Angel, was expecting him, they told her during the ultrasound that she was having a girl. She was excited because she had 2 boys already and wanted to get her hands on some girlie pink stuff. When we had her baby shower, she got plenty of pink things and I made a comment that it would be "funny" if it turned out she was actually having a boy!!

Come delivery day, I got to the hospital late (I worked in the City of San Diego and he was born at Camp Pendleton Navy Hospital in Oceanside, CA which is about 45 minutes away with no traffic, 1 1/2 hours if there is traffic). My husband was stationed on Camp Pendleton, so he was already at the hospital waiting for me. When I walked up to him he told me that the baby was already here and that it was a little boy. I said "You're lying!!" and he said "Unless little girls come with little winkies, it's a boy!!" My poor sister-in-law was a little upset, but she soon got over that (he is her little sidekick now and I think her favorite....LOL!!) I had to run to Walmart to get some baby boy clothes since all they had were pink frilly things!! So instead of an Eliana Isabel Leilani Vasquez, we got our Noah Joaquin....and I wouldn't trade him for the world!!

Thanks for letting me share my story of my nephew's birth with you all. I love recounting the day he was born!! Til next time,

xoxo,
Karen

FF#25 - Dr. Seuss Birthday Challenge

It is March and guess who's birthday month it is?? Dr. Seuss!! So this weeks challenge over at The Shoe is to celebrate his birthday. I've done a page called "Oh The Places You'll Go" featuring my DH and myself parasailing in Great Stirrup Cay Bahamas for our anniversary last year. I used quotes from his book that fit PERFECTLY with these pics: "It's opener out there in the wide open air" and "You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sites! You'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights!".

I pulled the red from the sail to use around my title and for the flowers, and put blue jeweled brads as their centers. It's not a perfect page (I don't care for the stickles around the title, but I can always go back and change that), but I think it turned out pretty good. Now, just to scrap the other pics from that trip and I'll be golden (it's only been a little over a year since then...LOL!!)

Be sure to stop by The Shoe to see what the other GDT did for Dr. Seuss' birthday!

Til next time!

Karen
