5 Challenges in 1 Layout....WHAT??!

I totally did 5 challenges in 1 layout since I posted this morning! I can't believe it!!
The layout is of my youngest daughter, Sarina, 11th birthday in 2008. Below are the Challenges I completed with this layout:

1 - Nuts About Sketches - Week 91, I just flipped the vertical 4x6's to horizontal
2 - Sketches by Tamara - Challenge #102: Use Rub ons, Flowers and Bling (the rub on is the word WISH)
3 - The Pink Elephant - Challenge #49, Birthday themed
4 - Practical Scrappers - Glitter/Bling, which are the flower centers, the dots above the pic on right, in the word Celebrate (which I recolored with stickles) and the CROWN is glittered
At last, but not least 5 - If the Shoe Fits - Fashionista Friday #17 - Chipboard, which is the word Celebrate at the bottom.

Here is a list of items I used in making this layout, which is now one of my favorites!!
CS - DCWV
Rubon - Oriental Trading
Lace CS - KI Memories in Bouquet Cosmo
PP behind the lace - MME in Laundry Line Coastal Lucky
Ink - CTMH in Ocean (distressed CS around Wish)

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. Be sure to visit the blogs listed above for some great ideas and inspiration!!

2 New Pages & A Room Makeover

Besides trying to scrap, my daughter's rooms are getting 360 degree makeover! I'll explain more below.

So this weekend I got a little scrappy....not much, but it's a beginning! I scrapped pictures of my girls opening their Christmas presents on our vacation. The tree was TINY, but I took a picture of it anyways and decided to put it on their LO's. Besides clothes (naturally), they both received a digital camera and an ILUV alarm clock/radio/docking station for their IPOD's. Boy were they surprised!

Breanna's Page (above) Recipe:
CTMH - Jingle PP, CS, & Diecut (cut out another ornament & pop-dotted it...it's the red shiny one at the bottom right)
Ribbon - AC
Stickles: Xmas Red & Icicle
Sarina's Page (above) Recipe:
CTMH - Jingle PP, CS & Diecut (cut out another present and stickled it & pop-dotted)
Ribbon - Joann's Craft Essentials
Stickles - Aqua & Xmas Red
Now onto the Room Makeover! For their Christmas gift, my mother is redoing their bedrooms from top to bottom. Instead of choosing who got to go first, the girls decided to have her flip a coin and Breanna won the toss. I really wish I had taken a picture of her room before so that you could see what she was up against, but she started while I was at work and I didn't get the chance to. But to give you an idea, Breanna's room was Mint Chocolate Chip Green, with accents of Turquoise! I mean, it was pretty, but she chose that when she was 10 years old and she is turing 15 in 2 months....time for a change! She is also going from a full-size bed down to a twin to give her more room....her furniture took up most of the space.
Anyways, her room is black, white & a gold-ish color, with a "plaid" on one wall. It doesn't look plaid to me, but it looks really awesome. I can't wait until it is completed and we get to see all the details my mom puts into it. I will post pics of the finished project when it is done. And I will post when Sarina's room gets started (she is going for the "grown-up princess" feel in her room).
Ok, I'm going to try to get some scrapping done for a couple of challenges I've found while blog-hopping. I've got 2 hours before I have to get ready for work.
Have a great day and thanks for reading!

2010 and I'm off to a slow start!

But at least I started, right?? Below is a LO I made of my 2 daughters & their Auntie after their 1st time snowboarding. I LOVED this pic and knew I had to scrap it when I got home. It helps that my hubby got me a HP Photosmart A532 wireless photo printer for Christmas....this printer ROCKS! All I had to do (after following directions) is to insert my SD card from my camera, chose the picture I wanted and hit print! It does 4x6, 5x7 and I believe 4x11 panoramic pics (although my camera doesn't do panaoramas). I'm gonna love using this and the pictures print out so crisp you would think I had them professionally printed!

Anyways, back to the LO. I did this for a challenge over at If the Shoe Fits... for Fashionista Friday #16. The challenge was to use 10 of one embellie (and I hope that 10 PP works)....not sure you can tell, but there are actually 11 PP on this page. I also took the sketch from Scrapbooks, Etc. magazine's Aug/Sept issue (page 20) and switched it from an 81/2 x 11 page to a 12x12 page.

Stop on over at The Shoe every Friday for their challenges....they are a great group of talented women and they love meeting new people!
Supplies used:
- CTMH Aspen PP & CS (except the white one lined like school paper, which is Lily Bee's Vintage Poppy diecut)
- Alphabets - American Crafts Thickers (in vinyl...not sure what font though)
- Paint - Adirondack (in Aqua, Lemonade & Sandal)
- Chipboard - unknown (the snowflakes & photo corners)
- Pen - a regular Bic ink pen

New Year Promises.....I think!

Ok, so a New Year is here and I've made myself some promises. I'm not calling them "resolutions" because, you know as well as I do, when you do that they just go right out the window. So here's a list of PROMISES I've made to myself:

1 - Lose 10-15 pounds. I paid for this tummy tuck 2 years ago and I've just gotten back into the habit of eating anything I want and not watching my weight, hence I've gained some of it back and I hate it!

2 - Organize my scrap "closest". Yes, I called it a closet, because technically it is!! Now just to get all the clothes out of there so I can actually get in there and scrap....which leads me to #3.

3 - Scrap more!! I've got a zillion pictures laying around that I would love to get scrapped, but because of #2 above, I just don't feel like getting in there!

4 - Blog more! I'm terrible at getting on here and just posting what I feel or what I've been doing. I'm going to try and be better at it.

5 - I'm sure I'll come up with a few more, but mainly those are it (for now!)

Well, in other news: We just got back from our Wintergreen Resort vacation in Nellysford, VA. This was the first time we had gone to the snow and my youngest daughter had a blast! Both of my girls took snowboarding lessons with their Aunt, but my oldest didn't care for it to much. However, my youngest is a natural at it! She even attempted to teach my husband on our 2nd to last day there. If we let her, she would just go and not come back until her lift ticket was expired! Now I'm thinking we are going to have MANY more trips to the mountains for snowboarding!

Below are some pics of us during Christmas. Hope you enjoy and I will be back soon with some finished scrapbook pages (I hope...LOL!!)

Here we are outside the condo we rented for the week:

Here is my youngest, Sarina (in pink) teaching her dad how to work the snowboard....isn't that cute??

Here are my 3 girls (well, one of them is my sister) at the end of their 1st day snowboarding. My youngest doesn't look too happy, does she? Nope, she was tired and wanted to take a nap (hello....she's 12 1/2!!!)

5 Little Monkeys & Blog Candy!!

So, it has been a while since I've sat down and scrapped. In fact, this page was done about 2 weeks ago! It is one for my MIL for the calendar I am "trying" to make her for Christmas...LOL!! Now I just need to get motivated and sit my butt down and do it.

This is titled "5 little monkeys". The picture was taken at Sea World San Diego back in July, 2009 while my daughters and I visited family. The kids had all played games and each of them won monkeys, so we decided to get a picture of kids with their "souveniers"...LOL! And wouldn't you know it, my youngest daughter actually made me bring home that polar bear....he got stuffed into a suitcase all by himself, I almost didn't have enough room in the other cases for our clothes!

Anyways....here is the menu of items I used:

DCWV Tahiti stack (all PP)
DCWV Neutral & Bright (CS)
Thickers stickers (all letters & number)
Adirondack paint
Stickles
Flowers & Brads (unknown)

As for the Blog Candy....stop by and visit my dear friend Tracey's Blog. She is giving away some amazing stuff for following her blog, leaving a comment and/or posting a link to her page on your own blog. Her blog is Scrappin Trackside and she does awesome work...be sure to check her out!

Ok, now I'm off to find some more inspiration so I can get scrappin' on my MIL's present! Thanks for stopping by!

Got Pudding

So, I'm kinda out of my scrapbooking funk. I've done a couple of pages in the last few days, but that was probably because I didn't have to work, and the fact that I have some awesome pics from our San Diego visit with family that I want to get done.

This LO was from a sketch by my friend Tanisha over at The Shoe (If the Shoe Fits...Scrap It blog). Of course I modified it to come up with this particular setup and also by making it an 8x8 page instead of my normal 12x12. I will be sending it as a gift to my dear SIL for my niece's birthday present and then I think I'm going to do the same LO and use it in a calendar I plan on making my MIL for Christmas.

So here's the story behind the LO: We (my girls, my 2 SIL's, my 4 nephews and 1 niece) were at Coronado Beach, CA having a day of togetherness....we hadn't seen each other in 4 years!! Well, we had brought some pudding for the kids to snack on but we forgot to bring spoons!! That didn't stop my almost 2-year old niece from eating hers, as you can see. That pudding on her face (I know, you can't really see it in this pic) was priceless!! She is just too adorable for words!

Here is a menu of items I used:

DCWV cardstock (brown and blue)
DCWV Tahiti stack (PP)
Recollections flowers
CTMH pendant (it says "Cherish")
K&Company Recycled chipboard
Gelly Roll glaze pen (white)
Unknown brads
Unknown tassel

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog! Head on over to see my friends at The Shoe, they would love to have you!!

Until next time!

Twilight update and Beach Bums LO

So it's been a LONG time since my last post. Of course, I've finished reading all the "Twilight" series books (over and over again) and am counting down the days until "New Moon" the movie comes out. In the meantime, my daughters and I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Facinelli (who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the movies) during the summer. He was such a nice guy and he even gave blood at the American Red Cross Blood drive he was there to support. Here are some pics of the event:

Ok, so enough about "Twilight"....well for now anyway LOL!! Here is a LO I did of our vacation to San Diego over the summer. I still have TONS of pics to scrap, but this one is a favorite of mine. This is of my girls, my niece and my 4 nephews at Coronado Beach, CA.

Supplies used:
DCWV Cardstock (Black & Red)
DCWV Tahiti stack (striped pp)
DCWV Vellum quote "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children"
Cricut homemade flowers
Kaiser Bling gems
CTMH alphabet stickers (Bums)
Thickers alphabet & accents stickers (beach & swirls)
Joann's tag (for hidden journaling)
unkown ribbon
Hopefully I will be able to scrap some more tomorrow & Monday since I do not have to work. If so, I will definitely be posting them.
Thanks for stopping by! It's off to work I go now!
